Cambia tus bombillas halógenas por LEDs

En el día de hoy os vamos a informar cómo se procede a la sustitución de nuestras viejas bombillas halógenas que tenemos en nuestros empotrables o empotrados del techo (también conocidos como ojos de buey), como deberías saber desde Septiembre de 2018 por una directiva de la Unión Europea han dejado de fabricarse todo tipo de bombillas halógenas e incandescentes, por lo que su adquisición sólo será posible hasta que se agoten las existencias que hayan fabricadas en el mercado actual, por lo que es el momento perfecto para la sustitución de la mismas por las bombillas LED.
Desde Septiembre de 2018 por una directiva de la Unión Europea han dejado de fabricarse todo tipo de bombillas halógenas e incandescentes.
La iluminación LED es muy eficiente y no contiene sustancias contaminantes como el mercurio, por ello si nos decidimos a la sustitución de las bombillas halógenas por LED manteniendo los empotrables que tenemos, debemos de saber que existen 2 tipos de bombillas que podemos tener en nuestros empotrables de techo, bombillas LED GU10 o bombillas LED MR16-GU5,3.
El primer tipo seria la bombilla formato casquillo GU10 las cuales disponen de un casquillo que su sujeción es mediante acople de mida vuelta y funcionan directamente conectadas a la tensión convencional de 230V.
El segundo tipo seria la bombilla formato casquillo MR16 o también conocida como GU5,3 son similares a las GU10, diferenciándose entre sí por el tipo de casquillo y el voltaje ya que funcionan a 12V, estas disponen de un casquillo tipo pincho, además necesitan de una fuente de alimentación (reactancia, transformador) para poder funcionar, este transformador además de ser un elemento adicional que se puede dañar, también tiene un consumo que incrementa la energía eléctrica que gastamos para iluminar nuestra casa.
Estas bombillas halógenas antiguas ya sean GU10 como MR16 consumen entre 35-50W, más unos cuantos vatios adicionales que consume el transformador en el caso de las Mr16, por ello se podría decir que instalando bombillas LED disminuiríamos nuestro consumo en iluminación un 85-86%.
Para cambiar estas antiguas bombillas, en el caso de las bombillas LED GU10 simplemente hay que cambiar una bombilla por otra, ya que el casquillo es el mismo y sirve, pero en el caso de las bombillas LED MR16-GU5,3 tendríamos 2 opciones:
- Olvidarnos de nuestro viejo transformador, desmontando el mismo y poniendo un casquillo GU10 que va directamente conectado a los cables de la luz, así ya podríamos poner una bombilla formato casquillo GU10.
- Otra opción sería seguir manteniendo el transformador y sustituir nuestra vieja bombilla halógena por una bombilla formato casquillo Mr16.
Dentro de estas opciones de mantener o no el transformador desde DecoLED VLC os recomendamos si es posible quitar el viejo transformador y poner una bombilla LED GU10 por diversos motivos.
Ventajas de cambiar el viejo transformador por una bombilla LED GU10
- El transformador tiene un pequeño consumo de 3-5W cada uno que sumado si hay muchos, sería un consumo residual que nos podríamos ahorrar.
- El transformador genera calor además de un ruido debido a su composición electromagnética que a veces puede llegar a ser molesto según el lugar donde se encuentre instalado.
- Dependiendo de si la intensidad (amperios) es muy alta el transformador puede ser perjudicial para la bombilla LED MR16-GU5,3, llegando a dañarla con el tiempo, ya que la carga que soporta una bombilla Led es mucho menor, pudiendo llegar a reducir su vida considerablemente.
- Si el transformador es de tipo electrónico, al requerir este una carga mínima para su funcionamiento, no podremos instalar una bombilla LED MR16, ya que al no llegar este al consumo mínimo requerido, la bombilla se quedará parpadeando o no encenderá.
Por todo ello debemos saber que si nos es posible sustituir nuestra viejas bombillas halógenas MR16 por una nueva bombilla LED GU10, de este modo estamos optimizando al máximo el consumo de nuestra instalación, además de eliminar por completo el calor y zumbidos que producen los antiguos transformadores, además de asegurarnos de que la nueva iluminación funcionara perfectamente.
Otro factor a tener en cuenta seria la equivalencia entre las bombillas halógenas y las bombillas LED que serían las siguientes:

Estas equivalencias no hay que considerarlas totalmente rígidas, para ser exactos habría que comprobar los lúmenes de cada modelo, teniendo en cuenta las eficacias de los reflectores y alguna otra circunstancia del lugar, aunque para hacernos una idea, estos equivalencias pueden servirnos.
También importante a tener en cuenta en la sustitución es el ángulo de apertura, con un ángulo pequeño, la superficie a iluminar será poca pero se iluminará con mayor intensidad, si el ángulo es grande, se conseguirá una mayor superficie iluminada pero con intensidad inferior. Por lo tanto, es necesario comprobar este ángulo en el halógeno que vamos a eliminar para que la bombilla LED sea de una apertura similar.
