Ya vimos un poco sobre la calidad de la luz en el artículo sobre la duración de las bombillas LED, y hoy nos toca hablar un poco más en profundidad y de paso, os vamos a dar unos consejos para reconocer una bombilla LED de calidad.
Vida útil de las bombillas LED
Ya hemos hablado anteriormente de lo que dura una bombilla LED, una vida útil de larga duración es posible si todo en conjunto funciona bien, principalmente temperatura y electrónica, que veremos en detalle más adelante. Por eso es tan importante mirar los factores técnicos antes de elegir una bombilla LED.
Una bombilla LED de 50.000 horas con un L70 F10 quiere decir que una vez pasan las 50.000 horas su “capacidad lumínica” es del 70% y un 10% fallan durante ese periodo.
La importancia de color CRI
Dentro de la ficha técnica de nuestros productos seguro que has leído un apartado que se llama CRI, eso es el Índice de Reproducción Cromática (por sus siglas en inglés, (Color Rendering Index) y es la medida utilizada en relación a una fuente de luz para medir su capacidad de mostrar los colores de un objeto de manera real, tomando como referencia la luz natural.
Lo ideal para identificar una bombilla LED de calidad es que tenga un valor de 80 o superior; fijaros bien ya que a medida que aumenta la intensidad, también disminuye el CRI por lo que hace que los objetos bajo ese tipo de iluminación tenga un aspecto más pálido.
De manera más sencilla y práctica, el CRI oscila entre 0 y 100 y a mayor número en el CRI, mejor reproducción de color. Un CRI de 60 es razonable, un CRI de 80 es bueno, y uno de 90 o más es un índice excelente, el CRI de una bombilla de tradicional es de un valor alrededor del 45.
Como podréis comprobar en nuestra web el 95% de nuestras bombillas y productos LED tiene un índice CRI entre 80 y 90.
Lúmenes y Vatios
Es otro de los aspectos a considerar, básicamente una bombilla LED usa menos energía para producir la misma iluminación. Como ya vimos en otro artículo iluminación y medio ambiente: una bombilla LED de 18 Vatios puede sustituir bombilla incandescente de 75W. Una bombilla LED necesita solo 2.5V para producir 115 lúmenes.
La Temperatura
Una de las características de las bombillas LED es que no se caliente, por lo que, por un lado es una mejora para la seguridad y por otro un ahorro energético importante.
A pesar de producir menos calor que una bombilla incandescente, una buena iluminación LED necesita una refrigeración eficiente; sobre todo porque si la capacidad de refrigeración no es suficiente, la bombilla iluminación se va oscureciendo y durara mucho menos de lo esperado.
La manera más conocida de refrigeración en los LEDs es mediante un disipador de aluminio.
La Electrónica
El último de los puntos a considerar, pero no por ello menos importante, es la tecnología que use el LED. Las bombillas y las lámparas LED de alta calidad están fabricadas con un chip diseñado para garantizar una vida útil de larga duración, aunque en este caso estamos hablando de que el elemento esencial es el chip interno. Sobre los chips están montados los diodos, que son los emisores de luz.
La marca y fabricación de estos Chip LED determina la calidad de la luz y la duración de los mismos. Un LED de alta calidad es entre 30 a 50% más brillante que uno económico y además aporta a nuestra luminaria:
- Alto nivel de CRI. Nos proporciona colores más vibrantes, profundos y reales.
- Mayor consistencia en el color. No se tienen tonalidades diferentes entre tiras del mismo tipo.
- Mayor vida útil. Durabilidad cercana a la publicitada en las especificaciones.
Chip LED de marcas como son CREE, EPISTAR, SAMSUNG, NICHIA,… aportaran una mayor calidad a nuestros productos LED. Un LED de baja calidad tiene menor brillo, bajo CRI (produciendo colores opacos o sin vida) y una alta probabilidad de fallo acortando su vida útil.
